This is probably the most mature book I've read in the animorph series so far. It didn't even really feel like I was reading a middle grade book honestly. It was incredibly dark and sad, I really loved the way it explores the horrors of war and violence and oppression. There was so much going on and even a beautiful love story. A true masterpiece tbh
