The Astonishing Future of Alex Nobody
by Kate Gilby Smith
I really enjoyed this book, which has very likeable characters and an engaging plot. It did remind me somewhat of The Time Keeper by Barbara Bartholomew, which was one of my favourite books as a child.
It's an intriguing take on the time travel concept - how would the world be if tourists could easily pop back in time to watch historical figures like watching a TV show, and what would it feel like for those being watched? It is a book that definitely encourages children to use their imagination.
