This is one of the few thrillers that I think actually has a realistic twist. It kept me on my toes, yet it actually makes perfect sense for the most part.

I actually reallly like that 98% of the “twists” are just Brooke struggling with her memory. For a book that started with her *accidentally* working at the same maximum security prison as her ex that attempted to murder her, that seemed shockingly believable. McFadden didn’t go over-the-top trying to make this one shockingly twisty and ruin in. With that being said, the only actually surprising part was the very tail end. Everything else was fairly predictable. Still a fun read, though, but nothing close to what I was expecting from her.

Overall, this is a super quick read that grabs your attention from the very first chapter. I read it in just a couple hours, which was perfect because I wouldn’t have been able to do anything else until it was done!!!
