I wanted to love this book. I really did. However, it just felt so cringey to me and I couldn’t accept how over-the-top this story was. I know it’s fiction, but I couldn’t even begin to believe the plot line. I found myself counting how many pages were left in each chapter so I could put it down and do something other than read this. In defense of the novel though, everyone else seemed to love it so maybe it’s a me problem rather than the book’s problem?
