I give this book 3.0 out of 5.0 stars. I don’t know. I really liked the book. I did. But there’s something that I just can’t place my finger on… Again, it easily could have just been my mood this week (it’s not been a good one), but I can’t put this book in the “great” category. The characters felt a bit off and while I liked the weird slang (you slinthead!), it got annoying quickly. Regardless, I’m looking forward to the next book (starting it after I hit post) and I hope I continue to enjoy the series.

Spoiler
Naturally, as these sorts of things go, Thomas wants to get right in the middle of things and find out everything immediately. And starts off breaking the number one rule in an attempt (successful, thankfully) to save two of the boys. However, right after Thomas arrives, so does a girl. They’ve never had a girl before and she comes with a message that she’s the last one ever. Ooooh, spooky. Or something.I give this book 3.0 out of 5.0 stars. I don’t know. I really liked the book.
