Cherisse has made a name for herself as a skilled baker around the island and is in demand for all kinds of local events. Kieran is a successful producer in the music business. They do not get along at all, even though they've been in the same social circles since high school, but when Cherisse's sister and Kieran's best friend plan their wedding and ask them to be maid of honor and best man, respectively, Cherisse and Kieran have to put aside their difference to work together. And the find they may not actually hate each other after all...
This was so fun and cute! Enemies to lovers is one of my favorite tropes, and this one definitely delivered. I really enjoyed Cherisse and Kieran's dynamic is a lot of fun: Cherisse is super bossy and is not quick to admit her feelings, and Kieran tries to be easygoing about everything, but is also more in his feelings than he will admit.
Also, love the queer rep! Kieran is bisexual, and while he isn't loud about it (only a few characters know), he doesn't get shamed for it. It's not treated as a weird thing, and while the main pairing of this book is m/f, his bisexuality is never negated or glossed over. He is still bisexual, independent of his relationship status. LOVE TO SEE IT!!! Also, there were a few other queer background characters, and the cover of this book says "Island Bites Book One" so I am hopeful that the rest of them will get their own books later on. *fingers crossed*
Definitely recommend this one for a summery, fun romance read!
