The books in this series can be read as standalones so I somehow stumbed upon the 3rd book before and that book was so dark and twisted that it took me months to feel like reading another one from the same author. And I gotta say, I'm glad this isn't quite as insane. And now I have a good feeling about the 2nd book and maybe at some point I'll even read the 4th one.
