This was one of those newer classics that I've wanted to read for a long time, and finally got around to doing it. I liked it a lot, mostly because I'm a sucker for a retelling, and the details that Rhys chose to expand from the original novel I found fascinating (how Rochester changed her name to Bertha gutted me!). I only wish we had actually heard more of Antionette's story from her perspective, although I understand Rochester's inclusion. If there had just been less of him, and more of her telling her story, I think it would have made this even better.
