While some reviews say that it is too far fetched or too similar to other WWII books, The Nightingale was offers a new of France and the women left behind during WWII. The lives of Vianne and Isabelle will make you want to finish the book in one seating. If you enjoy historical fiction, I highly recommend picking up The Nightingale. Many a time my friends and family were not able to get my attention because I was so enthralled. I plan on picking up more of Kristin Hannah’s books because The Nightingale got me hooked from the beginning.
