The Wind off the Small Isles is a typical Mary Stewart romance. Quite predictable, but handled with lightness and humour. Very sweet. Definitely the better of the two stories.
The Lost One was apparently first published in a magazine, and it showed. Fast=paced improbably adventure. Fun. but lacking in substance.
