I wish I hadn’t put this off for so long. This book felt like a warm comforting hug. I was thinking it would be similar to Days at the Morisaki Bookshop and I was wrong but not unhappily. I’m not usually fond of contemporary slice of life sort of stories but Welcome to the Hyunam-dong Bookshop broke it up very well by focusing on multiple people who work at or inhabit the bookshop, each at different places in their lives, stressing over perceived ideas of where they should be at. I needed to hear the multiple lessons imparted by this.
