Assistant to the Villain

adventurous
lighthearted
medium-paced
I wanted to absolutely LOVE this but it was just ok. I didn't know about the whole TikTok thing this stemmed from when I requested the book and not sure if l have any interest in seeking it out.
I was so in when it alluded that this was partly like The Office. The only connection to that is The Villain has office assistants 🤷♀️ There were a few small chuckle moments but not laugh out loud like I do at that show.
I wanted a big relationship to form between The Villain and Evie but besides a kiss to shut him up from revealing himself nearer to the end of the book, there was nothing. They had a lot of moments together but none seemed electrically charged to make me root for them.
I do have to say, the traitor they are searching for throughout the book is someone I didn't expect it to be and there is a cliffhanger so I might be interested to see what happens next.
