Freed
by E.L. James
is this a necessary or even worth while read?
no not really.
does it add anything to the story that the original trilogy didn’t already tell the reader?
so little that it’s not really worth a book of 740+ pages.
this book is defiantly for everyone that loved the original books, the writing and characters and can’t get enough of them and wants more.
for those people this book is perfect since nothing changed from the very first book.
the writing is not better, the characters aren’t better (of course not it wouldn’t fit since it’s just a retelling from his perspective instead of hers) and the plot isn’t really different in any way. i think maybe at the most 100 pages where actual new information about christians childhood.
so all on all?
it’s in no way a book that offers a huge new perspective or view into christian so i don’t think it’s a necessary read at all and would just skip it.
if you love absolutely the original book series or you are also a completist like i am?
it’s not a bad book but it’s also not great one.
