Everyone is right this is percy jackson meets hunger games but it also doesn’t feel copied, it has a unique concept to it! I really loved the representation in this book and diversity among the characters. I also loved how the characters were written as actual teenagers and weren’t overly childish or overly mature. I originally thought the concept of the trials would be like the hunger games but I liked that there were many different trials and they weren’t all battle focused. I hope Xio comes around in the next book or he gets a redemption ark because all the moments between him and Teo did not seem fake or forced. He seems like a misguided kid who didn’t want to feel like an outcast anymore. I am also looking forward to more development between Teo and Aurelio! They are so cute and I can’t wait to see where their adventure to save the world takes them. I love a headstrong main character that messes up sometimes but for all the right reasons! Teo is great and I can’t wait to see his growth.
