perid0t 's review for:
The Warrior's Apprentice
by Lois McMaster Bujold
I found the writing rather dry, which I assume comes from the age of the book. I enjoyed the premise tho and stuck with it and somewhere after the halfway mark I was hooked.
I'm tempted to give it five stars simply out of how much I loved it in the end, but it simply took too long before I became invested in the story.
I enjoyed the story of Miles and how he conned his way into being commander of a military fleet, I enjoyed that he was smart yet panicking in his new, inexperienced, role.
I definitely want to read more of Miles in the future, and see just where he ends up getting into trouble next.
