Shattered Innocence is everything I love in a dark, steamy novella—fast paced, wickedly compelling, and absolutely HOT. Sara Cate delivers an MFF romance that sizzles with tension, desire, and just the right amount of angst, making this Cinderella inspired retelling an unforgettable ride.

From the start, Birdie’s desperation to escape her cruel stepmother adds a layer of urgency to the story, and her devotion to Violet is both tender and forbidden. When Alaric enters the mix, things take an even hotter turn, and I loved how the dynamic between the three unfolded. The chemistry? Off the charts. The spice? Perfection. Cate does an incredible job of balancing dark themes with emotional depth, making every moment between Birdie, Violet, and Alaric feel intense and meaningful.

While it’s a novella and a quick read, it still feels like a novel length book with its plot and spice and character development. It delivers just enough tension, drama, and steam to keep me hooked from start to finish.
