I freakin' love this series. I loved the first book, Best Kind of Broken, and I think I loved Perfect Kind of Trouble even more. Perfect Kind of Trouble is the story of Darren (from book 1) and Kayla. I really like that this series takes places in the same small town, so you get to see a lot of the same secondary characters milling around. Chelsea Fine is so talented. She had me laughing, she had me tearing up, and then she had me laughing again.
This is a story of seeing past initial impressions of people. Both Kayla and Darren have plenty of thoughts on who the other person is. People talk in small towns, so their are plenty of rumors running around about both of them. Kayla comes home for her fathers funeral. A father who she has been estranged from for years. Darren was much closer to her father than she was. Hilarity, antics and plenty of UNST ensues when they find out that Old man Turner left a scavenger hunt for Kayla and Darren to find their inheritance. One catch- they have to do the scavenger hunt handcuffed together. Doesn't it just sound like the perfect set up for a hilarious and sexy book? Perfect Kind of Trouble is hilarious, sexy, and so much more.
For the sake of this review, let's just pretend that I'm not a wills and trusts attorney. It may not be the exact way that a will works, because this is a unique situation, but who cares? It is pure fun! And it didn't bug me one bit, because I felt like it was perfect for the story.
Chelsea can write characters like none other. I love her bickering love dynamic. It was pure pleasure watching Darren and Kayla go from severe dislike to something more to love. I loved watching them dig past their expectations and assumptions of the other person. This book will make you feel all sorts of things. It is at turns laugh out loud funny, and at times heartbreakingly sad. The Finding Fate series is MUST READ NEW ADULT. One of my favorite books of the year.
