Unfortunately I found this to be the worst book in the series, Nate is too disconnected to the war plotline and the fast pacing makes the events feel incredibly disjointed. Gabe and Nate finally get together in this one only for

Gabriel to die in Nathan's arms :(

which is just. kind of unnecessary? I do love the ending however, we love a forest ❤️
