Meg Elison is an amazing writer and she channels her inner Stephen King for this fantastic nail-biter of a horror read. A bit of a Misery homage with modern flare, this novel gripped me and twisted my stomach more than once. Elison's protagonist is strong and clever with a hardcore fighting spirit. Her antagonist is pure evil. Excellent twists, dark and horrifyingly realistic detail, and a heavily atmospheric plot that left me feeling deliciously claustrophobic. Gripping and entertaining.
