Buffy gets rebooted in time for the remake that's supposed to come out in the next couple of years. WhohoooOOOOOooo!

Actually, I'm just about done with Buffy's comic series that was a continuation of the TV show. While it wasn't always great (Fuck you 2nd half of season 8) it did have some great moments (season 10-11). This is a complete reboot. The first issue even feels a lot like the TV shows first few episodes, but quicker paced, but hitting same notes. Notable changes like making Willow gay right away, introducing Spike a lot earlier, using modern day slang to replace late 90's. Overall, it feels like 2-3 episodes mashed together in 4 long issues.

Saying that, it mostly works. I'll admit the first issue was intriguing but not super impressed. I was worried it would follow the show too close. Not give itself the freedom to try new things. As it went on, clearly that changed. Sure, most character's stayed similar but there were a TON of new plot points and a great ending twist. Also, the art, THANK YOU. This art looks much closer to show, way better, and more vibrant.

Overall, I'm hooked. A 4 out of 5!
