I was very hesitant to read this book for some reason, but i did end up really enjoying it. I really liked how the book started off, but somewhere towards the middle I didn’t think it would end up with a rating this high, but the way everything was wrapped up sat incredibly right with me. Dare I admit that
January’s father’s letters to January made me tear up a lot, but i think that’s just the daddy issues talking

After 1st reread:
I think it has been roughly about a year since I first read beach read and at the time it was my first Emily Henry novel. Before I said I was a bit hesitant to read it, and was mostly because i didn’t want to be disappointed by yet another booktok recommendation. But this time around I didn’t have that hesitation, it’s quite the opposite, since I’d say I’m a fan of the EH kool-aid. I let myself just get completely immersed in the love January and Gus have for each other without having to deal with the looming thought that the book was going to go somewhere I didn’t want it to go and I throughly enjoyed it. To the point where It feels wrong to not add to my list of EH 5 stars; especially since this second time around the tears still did not hesitate fall at the same exact things
