The Good Girl
by Mary Kubica
The Good Girl was our pick for book club this December. I hadn't really heard of it, but after hearing the description and also seeing it compared to Gone Girl, I was super excited to read it. I am so glad that I was not disappointed. I could barely put the book down and ended up going to bed early and staying up late to finish the book quickly.
The book kept me thinking, the whole time I came up with new ideas of what was going on and how it was going to end. I loved the possibilities in the pages and not really knowing what was going to happen next.
I enjoyed the way the book was laid out, there were multiple personalities, along with going back to before and after, so you could almost start to piece things together.
The ending was not one of the situations I had come up with. I was surprised and put the book down nodding my head because Mary did a great job of keeping me on my toes and really kept me guessing.
I really hated Mia's dad, was on the fence about Colin and Mia's mother and liked Mia. I think the characters really pulled you in the direction that you should, feeling each character completely.
The only gripe is that I want more after the ending. I didn't want the book to stop and I almost wanted it to go back to the beginning with a new POV after we know what really happened.
