When my first kiddo was quite small, I read Fever Dream by Schweblin, and it absolutely terrorised me. I gave my copy away, in fact. I thought that now my children are older, I might be a bit more immune to her writing, but honestly, I'm not. This takes an interesting idea, which is already the sort of thing a Black Mirror episode would employ, and just follows it to its worst possible outcomes, really shows the worst of humanity, and I'm so sad now! I think Schweblin's a fantastic writer, but I don't have the emotional fortitude for her anymore, I think.
