A Murder Is Forever
by Rob Bates
This is an excellent debut for a new mystery series.
It’s highly entertaining and well written, a gripping story that kept me hooked till the end.
I loved the descriptions of the diamond business world and of the Jewish traditions, both are well researched and I learned a lot about diamonds and how they are sold&bought.
The mystery is full of twists and turns and it kept me guessing. I think there’s a lot of potential in this series that could become a favourite of mine.
I had some issues with Mimi, the MC, as I found her a bit too harsh and reckless. She’s facing a lot of problems and looking for solutions but at the same time it seems she’s looking for further troubles and it’s hard to root for her. I’m sure she will become wiser and her social skills will improve in the next installment.
It’s an interesting and engrossing read that I recommend.
Many thanks to Rob Bates and Partner in Crime for this ARC, all opinions are mine
