i picked this up on a complete whim because i have an attachment to Curiosity from my childhood and oh my god?? beeps and boops??? i had no idea this would become a favorite (and one of the most recent books to make me cry) but i am so so glad that i saw the cover and decided to read it. i think res's story is something that will always stick with me and i am so happy that this book exists in the world. i can't wait to recommend this for middle grade readers at work but further than that readers of any age who are a fan of heartfelt scifi like A Psalm for the Wild-Built by Becky Chambers should 100% pick this up. i still can't believe how deep my attachment ran for these characters and how well this was written.

also no spoilers but let's just say Class of 2013 by Mitski came on at the absolute WORST time and i genuinely sobbed
