I thought about this alot and I don't think I'm in the right head space for this book. The main character was so distant and I couln't get overthe gratuitios discriptions of genitals.

Some quotes that made me nope'd the fuck out

“Pale-skinned and blue-eyed, hair so fair it's almost white, wine-colored lips, and round, full breasts with the veins running through them like a good cheese.”

“her naked breasts hung flat and pendulous on her chest,”

“the broad-hipped woman with monsters dropping from the vast gash between her legs was Hubur;”

“ their breasts and genitalia had been carved with elaborate care”

Don't worry Gaiman's equal opertunity

“His nipples were dark, old-man nipples,”

“his penis hard enough to hang a leather helmet on”

BTW these quotes didn't happen in any sort of sexual context where descriptions of genitalia, breasts and penises would be expected

A man was literally vored through someone's vagina in the first chapter. Some quotes from that unforgettable scene

“He feels the lips of her vulva tight around his upper chest and back, constricting and enveloping him.”

“Her labia pull slickly across his face”

I am traumatized, pray for me.

This book was not compelling enough for me to stick through 600+ pages of a stilted MC and and some horrifying descriptions.
