I actually really liked this, way more than I expected to. Strange as it is to say, I didn’t like the first half of the book where they’re doing the “will-we-won’t-we” dance thing as much as I liked the second half, where they’re dating. They have this comfortable chemistry that allows them to have great banter, great conversations, and also do things like crack jokes in the middle of sex. I found Adam and Kolby to be really sweet and funny together, more so than when they weren’t yet together. There’s a pretty decently fleshed out cast of side characters too.

Admittedly, I’m not crazy about the tension-building plot points in the third act (urgh, trying to be vague). But a lot of that is overshadowed by the fact that most times I started to roll my eyes in a “I see where this is going and I don’t like it” kind of way, the book ended up going in a direction I did not expect (with one notable exception and I’m still laughing over it).

There’s some moments that are a little bizarre, there’s a few that I don’t think entirely make sense but overall, I’m kind of shocked by how much I liked this.
