The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes
by Suzanne Collins
3.5/5 stars
This was a really interesting take on the rise of President Snow, when he was still a universally student and the Hunger Games were still in their early stages. I feel like a huge portion of the book was an attempt to make Snow seem like a more sympathetic character but I could tell right from the beginning that anything he thought he was feeling wasn’t really true. The characters just weren’t anything special to me and it focused so little on the actual Hunger Games that I was a little disappointed in this one …
This one is definitely more academic and political than the original trilogy and less exciting.
I am curious to see how the movie is though!
