A Good Girl's Guide to Murder
by Holly Jackson
This definitely reads as Serial fanfiction (there's even a side character named Nisha), and ends a little absurdly, but it's an enjoyable mystery. It definitely also felt at times like the editor had to remind the author of things like American racial dynamics, so stuff like that was shoehorned in in a paragraph and then instantly forgotten. But the characters are pretty believable, including Pip's high school recklessness and terrible interview skills. I appreciated that Ravi had a personality beyond sullen brother of a suspected killer. People contained multitudes, which is mostly what I ask. Not a bad read.
