I really liked how simple and straightforward this book was to explain the basic non binary they / them language. And to give some examples, grammar structure, and helpful ideas for being an ally to a non binary person. Giving gender neutral options for people. It definitely was a beginner's book/intro to non binary things. But I think kids or parents would find this helpful, especially if you know someone that is in this process and want to help them. I liked how they basically brought it down to "if my name is Robert but I ask you to call me Bob, and you call me Bob, its the same thing. If you choose to purposefully misgender me, then you are indifferent, lazy and rude." Yup. I also like the options for being an ally, and highlighting the need for communication - do you want me to immediately tell someone they fucked up, in private let them know, let it go, let you handle it. What do you need for me to support you. And emphasizing that it's OK if you make a mistake, and as long as you aren't intentionally misgendering or being rude, it's part of the process. Quick and short. Wish there was more than two white people explaining it, but what is important is the message they gave to the reader.
