Barbarian Lover by Ruby Dixon
4.0

"That's not a very human way of thinking." I open my arms wide a gesture, "Look at the male before you, does he look very human to you?"

The Good

Kira is definitely my favorite of the women so far. She's an over-thinker and anxious, which i relate to. She's also incredibly smart which made her such a badass in the later half of the book. Aehako is sweet and trying his best. He tried his best to make Kira happy and understand her. He's so reassuring and doesn't make her fears seem irrational or stupid. He also doesn't make her feel silly for

Spoilernot wanting to have sex when he obviously want to really bad
Aehako and Kira had good chemistry and I loved their romance. They deeply care about each other and complement each other very well. I'm glad the kidnapper alien plot is finally coming around again. I like having a important background plot and climax happening even though the stories focus on romance. It was more interesting than the previous installment, even though it stressed me out. I like Dixon give us the prospective of the other human girls in the tribe. It also gives use more insight into tribal life.

The Bad

As smart and communicative Kira was, it was frustrating that she never thought to even ask

Spoiler can i have kids?
to the healer or the ship. Like I know she has low-self esteem and insecurities that were preventing her so it wasn't "bad" per say but it was a tad annoying.

The Rating
I give this installation a 4/5
