The Lorax by Dr. Seuss
4.0

I was very curious to read a book by Dr. Seuss. His name appears a lot in references, however, in the Netherlands Dr. Seuss never became as big as Annie M.G. Schmidt, for example (or at least during my childhood).

Even though The Lorax was first published in 1971, its message about the environment and preserving it is as relevant as ever. It explains very simply how greed and capitalism can harm nature and have a great impact on all that live there. So unless you care, nothing will get better. I can really recommend this book if you are looking for a short, wonderful story to tell yourself or your child that you should care about the environment.
