I’m not sure how to rate this yet. I want to give it a 4 because I love when a black woman is loved unconditionally, treated like she’s a Queen, and given all the deserves. The romance was so sweet yet unhinged because of our MMC. Towards the middle/end I really began questioning our FMC and her decisions. For example when she excuses his verbal emotional guardedness because he was hurt in high school 🙄. Absolutely not that’s a grown man and high school was probably 2 decades ago just no. And then they reveal what happens and I agree it sucks but still hold him accountable! 

Otherwise it was a good read, the second half irked me a little but I still enjoyed the process of reading this book. Can’t wait to start the second book because of Lexie and Dante.

Also, someone needs to kick that father’s 🍑  😡
