I’m pretty sure I’m one of the few people left who has not read this series. I FINALLY started it and I’m so glad. I did watch the films and think they were just way too corny for me. It really held me back from reading them. DUH, the book is always better! I love Greek mythology and I wish I would have delved in sooner.

I really had to try and distance myself from the movies while reading this. Once I got started it wasn’t too difficult. There is a lot of things in the book that are completely different than the movies. It’s done so much better in the book.

I really loved the friendships in this book!! I felt like they were so much stronger and their personalities shined so much better in the book. I really love the banter between Percy and Annabeth. There is a lot of humor in this book but it’s not done in a corny way (like the movies).

One of the stars of this book is really Percy’s mother, Sally! Wow! She is amazing and has sacrificed so much for Percy. I love that he gets to see that too.

There is so much going on in this book that I just flew through it. It was filled with adventure and I really enjoyed it. I can’t wait to keep going with the series.

I’m sorry- this review is terrible. My mind is full of so much anxiety with world events. Just know, I enjoyed this one and I can’t wait to read the next one!
