Just Missed by Himanshu Bhatia
3.0

“I gifted Dad an SUV, and he asked for my bachelorhood as a return gift!”

Just Missed is the debut novel of Himanshu Bhatia. It is an elegant, feel-good love triangle centred around Siddharth, Shreya and Shivam. Siddharth is an over-ambitious workaholic who barely has a life outside of his work, whereas Shivam is the type of guy that Shreya wants nothing to do with. Who will she pick?

The writing is clear, simple and funny at times. The book is under 300 pages, so its quick and fast-paced. If you enjoy romance novels or if cheesy Bollywood movies melt your heart or if you like Durjoy Dutta’s novels then you’ll enjoy this book!

I’m not much of a romance reader myself (I outgrew that phase in middle school) so I don’t think it’s a book that resonated a lot with me. I think perhaps the younger me would have enjoyed this much more. But I think anyone who loves romance or wants a light and heart-warming read will surely like it. In particular, if you like any of the following romance troupes, you may want to check it out : love triangle, enemies to lovers, love at first sight, arranged marriage, matchmaking, opposites attract etc.
