I loved this story a whole lot even though it had a couple of pet peeves that could ruin my enjoyment: repetitive handholding. It definitely felt like the author was repeating the same thing so much that it was like I was a child that needed the point of a story explained. Due to the whimsical, fairytale sort of tone, it worked more than it ought to have. I also appreciate cozy books going into darker subject matters like this one did, as too perfect a fairytale often leaves too little an impression on me. Wholesome, cozy, and hilarious, this was enjoyable for these more difficult months. 🥰
