Children of Time by Adrian Tchaikovsky
3.0

Did I “like it”? Hell no. There’s little here to enjoy - it’s like a mashup of the donner party and the HAL9000 .

But i awoke this morning exactly a week to the day after finishing this book having dreamt of exiting something akin to airport a security before proceeding on a scavenger hunt type progressive road trip adventure with a few companions where at each stop along the way we faced challenges that had to be solved in the face of danger - with, get this lego blocks against ants 🐜!

So beware Adrian Tchaikovsky - this writing will change the way you think and the way you dream days after you put it down if you plow through its pages and its characters mark their days and measure their breaths through short lives and long ones against the bleakest of prospects taking comfort where they can get it: from their few, but often stalwart, dependable companions or from the feeling of accomplishment at a problem solved or a danger averted .
