The Hero of Ages
by Brandon Sanderson
Very enjoyable when considered as a single volume, but excellent as the capstone of the entire series. One thing that had attracted me to the Mistborn series was [a:Brandon Sanderson|38550|Brandon Sanderson|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1394044556p2/38550.jpg]'s description of how he had outlined and very nearly written the three books as one, and the cohesiveness of the story was more than adequate. It was clear that certain elements that appeared fully in Hero had been planned all along and foreshadowed in [b:the Final Empire|68428|Mistborn The Final Empire (Mistborn, #1)|Brandon Sanderson|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1617768316l/68428._SY75_.jpg|66322]. The story itself was more than adequate - we were finally nearly free of the minor characters that had always blended together in my mind, and I enjoyed following along with the characters that I'd come to enjoy.
I didn't notice the supposed Mormonness of the book, and can't say that I'd've cared if I did - I became hooked based on Sanderson's prose and his well-planned story, and I stayed that way to the end.
