One Child Alive by Ellery A. Kane
3.5

As mentioned in my review of the last book, I really struggle to review this series. Overall I really enjoy the story and the characters but it just takes me a while to get into them. I also find them a bit long and drawn out. I did also guess the killer pretty early on this time. However, I had no idea how they were going to work it out or how badly it was going to end. I would say these books are slow burners even though there is always a lot going on but you can always rely on them to have pretty explosive endings. The epilogue has also left me intrigued for the next installment. I struggle with the will they won't they, adults can't communicate their feelings trope when it goes on too long but there’s finally an answer either way (no spoilers) in this book. I think Deck and JB is my favourite partnership though. Their, friendship and banter adds some very much needed lightness and humour. I received a copy of the ebook via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review
