Batting Style by Louisa Masters
❤️ Sweet Jock x Amateur Designer
❤️ Strangers to Hookups to Lovers
❤️ Sexual Awakening
❤️ Opposites Attract
❤️ Fast burn, low spice
❤️ Obliviously Dating
❤️ MC with himbo vibes
I really enjoyed 'Mr Romance' from the first FU series, so I was looking forward to another Louisa Masters book packed with clueless love and witty charm, and in many ways this book delivered.
Jordan was a great character, he's kind and sweet and gives off oblivious himbo vibes which I absolutely love. Blaise has struggled and clawed his way to be where he is in life and has his sights set firmly on his future career. Neither Jordan or Blaise are looking for love but somehow find it through a ripped suit, instant attraction and late night hookups.
Though I really enjoyed the light-heartedness of the first half of this book, I have a lot of mixed feelings when it comes to the second half. There were many parts that I liked as Jordan and Blaise were a really cute couple, but I also had several issues.
There was a lot of telling rather than showing in this story, there were so many things that were mentioned that I would have loved to have read a full scene of. It felt as though we were missing out on these moments and the build up of the MCs connection.
The ending came quite quickly and to me it felt more like a happy for now rather than a happily ever after, which I did find a little disappointing as it seemed like there were quite a few things left up in the air.
Though it's not my favourite in the series, I did enjoy reading Blaise and Jordan's story and the bonus scene available definitely helped add to the overall picture of their HEA.
Overall: ⭐⭐⭐.5
