I honestly loved this story. It felt more distinctly LGBTQ+ than anything else I've read that Time Princess has put out. I really love the characters, the plot, the character growth, and the overall world-building. I do think there are some clunky attempts at addressing oppression, but overall the point is made lightly enough that it doesn't become super mired down by any parallels that are drawn to the real world. The choices made in this book feel very tangible as there are high stakes and characters with emotional ties involved.
