The movie version of this is quite possibly one of my favorite animated movies of all time, and I knew going in that this is vastly different from the movie (having read this one before). But honestly, I saw that David Tennant narrates these audiobooks and that makes it a yes from me. As expected, he does a phenomenal job with his narration. I could just listen to him narrate all day.
However, I do prefer the story they tell with the movie over the story told in this book. There are some similiar vibes throughout, but the story told in the movie just hits different. Cowell does a great job with world building and creating a cast of quirky characters that are fun to read about. I might listen to a few more in the series just because David Tennant narrates them, honestly. See where they go!
