A Study in Charlotte
by Brittany Cavallaro
While the transformation of Sherlock and Watson into modern teenagers was jarring at first for a Holmes enthusiast, there's something about Cavallaro's writing that keeps drawing me in. I was completely captivated by Jamie, the descendant of Doctor Watson, and intrigued by Charlotte, the descendant of Holmes. The way Cavallaro allows glimpses of the original work whilst making the story completely her own is wonderful to read. While the idea of this book may sound ludicrous, in Cavallaro's hands it is wonderful and she has now found a devoted fan.
