Dirtiest Secret

Copy received from publisher via Netgalley for an honest review
I have been impatiently waiting for Dallas Sykes story since I first heard he was getting his own, so it was great to wake up and find him waiting on my kindle.
Now, I am not going to lie. It did take me a while to get into Dallas and Jane's story. I am not sure if it was the book, if it was me, if it was my reading mood. But for the first 35% of the book I struggled. I struggled to connect. I struggled to keep interested. I struggled to keep reading and put the book to the side a few times and did other things. It was a case of "oooh look, shiny things" and off I went - which is all the more reason I think the funk was my reading mood!
BUT once I got past that part of the book (and out of my obvious funk!) I didn't want to put it down.
Dallas has always been the sexy, uber-rich playboy around town, but as we scratched the surface, found out more of his a past, what happened with Jane - well, my heart ached for them both.
I was expecting a sexy read with a bit of suspense, but Dirtiest Secret is so much more. It is dark, it is gritty, it was suspenseful. Secrets, lies, deception - oh what a tangled web we weave people!
I could feel the UST between Dallas and Jane fly off the pages. They want each other. They need each other. They can't have each other (for reasons you will understand when you get reading!)
I just so badly want them to have their HEA - but I know that this isn't going to be easy and it isn't going to be quick - this is the first book in a trilogy so my head knows I will have to wait, but my heart doesn't.
Please Julie, don't make me wait too long for the next book - after the way you ended book one I am on tenterhooks waiting to see what happens to our lovelies!
