Dungeons and Drama

This was immediately on my radar the moment I heard the title. Everything I could have wanted and hoped for was DELIVERED. It’s hard to say fake-dating trope (which I love) and it read original, but somehow mixing in the theater kid vibes and board games really created such a unique and fun story! It was sweet teenage rebellion with the cutest love shenanigans. Riley, our main, comes off surprisingly mature at the same time and never leaves us tired of the story.
Plus I thought Nathan’s persona came off really well, not just a nerdy store boy with no depth. It’s a very modern story that brings the nostalgia of an early 2000s dating cliche. Literally PERFECT. The friend group dynamic with Nathan’s DnD group was really refreshing and it was sweet to see the father daughter relationship develop. Aaaand the BANTER.
