shidoburrito 's review for:
The Phantom of Manhattan
by Frederick Forsyth
2.5 stars. I went into this knowing it wasn't going to be good, so it ended up being better than the trash-fire I imagined. I suppose "Love Never Dies" is the trash fire. This is more of a smoldering cigarette butt about to catch the mulch on fire.
But if you are a big PotO fan and would like a sequel that was written by this obvious old, white man that inspired "Love Never Dies" and doesn't do Meg Giry dirty and instead makes a weird Maltese kid worshipping a money god/demon the antagonist...well then have I got a book for you! Oh, and there's of course Erik. And Christine. Raoul has about 10 sentences
Boy, this certainly was a story...

Spoiler
and we learn of his unfortunate dick woundAlso, don't expect a direct story? You are being told what is happening with Erik and Christine through, mostly, journalists and their articles or people gossiping to each other.Boy, this certainly was a story...
