This was very hard to read, abusive mothers really hurt me so much and I can rarely finish a book that has this element. 

But I loved the relationship between Henry and Evan so so much. It hurt me but it also gave me love and hope and an amazing found family. 

I didn’t see this as „romance heals everything“ because of course it didn’t. And he obviously isn’t healed at the end. 

Real people and relationships aren’t picture perfect either... people make mistakes.
