Some spoilers ahead.

I was quite torn on how to rate or review this book. It has a lot of potential, but i feel like it wasn't quite finished. It needed some tidying up and i really think that it could have easily been 100 pages shorter.

This book is typical pnr. Hot sexy guy, tough, independent, beautiful girl who of course is a virgin, insta love, and lots of man saving woman. The author has tried to make it stand out from the massive PNR crowd by going with Greek characters and incorporating lots of real Greek words and weaving Greek mythology throughout. I spent a lot of the book googling the Greek words so that i knew what was being said. I didn't mind that, what i did mind was when it had the Greek word followed but the English words afterwards. So the author is just saying the same thing again and again.

I think a good editor would have picked these things up, as well as the occasional missing word or incorrect spelling. They would have also pointed out that the story repeats itself. Carissa gets kidnapped and rescued five times..... By the same person.... Um really, that's not cool. Its a bit boring actually.

Xen and Carissa were both exactly what you would expect from this type of book. They are cardboard cutouts of every other book out there, and the writing wasn't good enough to compensate for it.

I was going to rate this 2.5 stars and round it up to 3, but while writing this i've realised its a 2 star book.

The conversations are awkward, Carissa's internal dialogue is irritating and it just doesn't feel like a finished version of a book.
I want to know what happens in the next book, because it has the potential to be great.

I received this from Goodreads giveaways.
