Reminders of Him
by Colleen Hoover
What can I say? I knew going into this that I was going to expect some emotional damage. It’s CoHo and she delivered. I can’t tell you how many times I cried in this book. I just felt for both sides and I was so conflicted because I could understand both sides. One of the things I love about CoHo is that she knows how to destroy you but by the end, she’s somehow made you happy and whole again? It’s such a crazy thing but I appreciate it immensely.
Kenna just wants to see her daughter and isn’t expecting much. Scotty’s parents don’t want anything to do with her and refuse to let her near Diem. Gosh, it hurt. One of my favorite things about this book is Kenna’s letters to Scotty. She uses it as a form of therapy but they are one of the best things about this book. They were so heart-wrenching but they give you a peek into her soul. Her pain and agony is written so well & you FEEL it all.
Ledger actually is the star of this book, in my opinion. His dedication to Diem is admirable and one of his best qualities. Their relationship is so sweet and so pure, it just made you smile. I loved to see his transformation in this book. To be in such a messy situation was just really intense and emotional.
One of my favorite supporting characters is Lady Diana! She brought some needed relief and laughs with such an intense book. I do wish we got to see more of her and her past. The story itself is addicting. I could not stop thinking about it when I wasn’t reading. I definitely finished this book in one day. Sorry, not sorry. I think because her stories are so impactful it’s always hard for me to stop reading. I just devour them and then I’m kind of sad it’s over. haha
The ending of this book was a tad rushed. I wish that we could have some of the situations fleshed out a bit more but I was happy with the way things ended up. Overall, I loved this and it’s one of my top books by her. I really cannot wait for the next one but I’ll catch up on some of her back ist until then! ❤
