First Comes Love
by Emily Giffin
I'm generally all for unlikable characters, so even though I detested both Josie and Meredith, I read this book through. Alas, part of the fun of unlikable characters is seeing them get some sort of comeuppance, but these two basically get the perfect ending to their respective story lines.
While Emily Giffin's writing is still a pleasure, this story just did not capture me like some of her others.
Spoiler
Seriously, Josie gets pregnant on the FIRST TRY with her BFF's donation, and the guy she has been leading on decides to give a relationship a go despite her new pregnancy? That is awfully convenient. How about one of those? Also, the big secret revolving around the death of Josie and Meredith's brother was fairly tame, and not worth the drama. While Emily Giffin's writing is still a pleasure, this story just did not capture me like some of her others.
